Increas in petrol price: drawbacks and alternative ways.
Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems.
To what extend do you agree or disagree?
What other measures do you think might be effective?
Heavy traffic jam and pollution issues have been become the emerging problems worldwide. While some people suppose that the increase in price of the petrol is the best way to solve these severe problems, some believe that there are many methods in order to tackle and improve the current situations.
It can not be denied that the increase in the petrol price will push the growth in the input stage of production process, leading to the loss of enterprises’ competitive advantages. Moreover; especially in developing nations that have lacked the effective transport infrastructure, the implementation of increasing the unit price of gasoline could be the root cause of the national insecure economy. Then, Inflation, the dramatic growth in the price of goods and unemployment could be happened.
In order to resolve the problems deeply, it requires the combination between government and citizens. Educational orientation focusing on the benefits of pubic transport plays an important role in enhancing the perception of environmental protections and traffic on road reduction. Moreover, government should offer incentives for those citizens using buses or other forms of public transports instead of their own car for movement as well as increase tariff of private vehicles. Secondly, it is of importance that government should put more effort in the construction and well maintenance of sufficient sky trains and long-distances underground train systems in the cities. Above all, sustainable initiatives should be encouraged as the new trend in means of transportation. For implementation, renewable energy and cleaner fuels with efficient cost are taken in priority for development and investment.
All in all, Petrol price is not the best way for implementation as it could lead to many disadvantages noted above. I do strongly agree that there are many effectively alternative methods in order to resolve the problems of traffic jams and pollution issues.
